The Ultimate Guide To BPme Rewards
/With BPme you can pay for fuel from your car and earn points to redeem them for fuel, goods, vouchers and gifts. Here’s my ultimate guide to BPme Rewards.
Since all the BPme redemptions are valued at 0.5p/Point, I always redeem them for Amazon vouchers as they last 10 years and offer the most flexibility - Andrew Cunningham (Capital Matters Editor)

How Do You Use BPme?
The easiest way to use BPme is via the BPme app.
You’ll be given a digital card, which you can find on the ‘Rewards’ screen of the app. Scan this card at the BP till when you want to earn or redeem points. If you pay for fuel via the BPme app (more on that later) you’ll collect BPme points automatically.
Alternatively, you can use a physical BPme card (if you’ve picked one up at a BP service station) to earn and redeem points. But you’ll need to register a card with BPme within 12 months to keep the points. I’d recommend using the app over the card as you’ll get access to double and triple point promotions, amongst other offers.
Earning BPme Points
To earn BPme Points, scan your digital or physical BPme card at the till or pay for fuel using the BP app to atomically collect points.
You earn 1 BPme Point per 1 Litre of Regular Fuel, 2 BPme Points per 1 Litre of BP Ultimate Fuel and 1 BPme Point for every £1 spent on goods in BP service stations.
Transaction | BPme Points |
---|---|
1 Litre Regular Fuel | 1 |
1 Litre Ultimate Fuel | 2 |
£1 on Goods in BP | 1 |
BPme points aren’t earned on everything. There are some exclusions. You don’t earn BPme points on:
BP PLUS bunker, Keyfuels, UK Fuel Cards, OMV, Circle K, ENI, UTA, Total Fuel Card
Tobacco, Phone Cards, Baby Milk, Stamps, Utility Cards, e Top-Up, Lottery
Other BP Service Station Store Transactions (eg. Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco)
Deliveroo Purchases
If you’ve forgotten your card (or your phone if you use the app), you can ask for a points IOU. Point IOUs will expire. How do you add your BPme Reward Points with an IOU? Just present your IOU and your BPme card at the till in a BP service station to get the points added to your account.
How To Boost Your Savings
From time-to-time, BP offer flat bonus points, double points and triple points. You have to load these offers to your card, they aren’t added automatically. Go to the ‘Rewards’ section on the BPme app to see if there any offers available then tap on them to load them to your BP card.
You can boost your savings further by paying with a point or cashback-earning credit/debit card. I use the American Express Rewards Credit Card (Referral: Earn a boosted 6,000 Amex points) which earns 1 Amex MR point per £1 spent. I can redeem MR points for statement credit, BA Avios, Hilton Honors and more. It’s one of the most flexible point schemes in the UK.
Pay For Fuel Via The BPme App
One of the best benefits of the BPme app. With the app, you can securely pay for fuel from the comfort of your car. Here’s how it works:
Add a payment card on the app (Profile > Main Payment Card - VISA, Mastercard, Amex, BP Plus Fuel Cards Accepted)
Head to ‘Station Finder’ on the app
Confirm the station you’re at and select your pump number
When ‘Start Fuelling’ appears, leave your phone securely in your vehicle and fill as normal
Once done, get back in the car and wait until the payment is confirmed on the app
That’s it, you’ll collect BPme points automatically and you’ll be sent a receipt to your email address.
Good To Know:
You’ll pay the same price at the pump as everyone else at that specific BP station.
You may see a larger pending amount in your bank balance but you’ll only be charged for the fuel you dispensed. The transaction will go through within a few days (but may take up to 10).
Signal is required. You must have 3G or Wi-Fi at a minimum. If you have no signal, you must pay in store.
Works with regular fuels, ultimate fuels and LPG.
Max payment is £100 (so HGV drivers can use the app but must bear in mind that’s the maximum amount that can be used)
What Are BP Points Worth?
BPme points are worth 0.5p in most cases.
That means, for every £1 you spend at a BP service station, you’re getting 0.5p (equivalent to 0.5%) back, a pretty dismal saving. When you collect points on regular fuel, that percentage will be lower if the fuel is priced over £1 per litre (since you get 1 point per Litre, instead of 1 point per £1 spent).
If you activate a double or triple points offer, you can double or triple that cashback, to 1% to 1.5% but the saving isn’t anything to write home about.
BPme Points Value Calculator
Enter your BPme points total in the calculator below and you’ll see what your BPme points are valued at. This is based off of a 0.5p/Point redemption rate but there is a limited way to boost the value of your points (see below).

You might be wondering what to do with your BP points. You also might be wondering if you can get better value than 0.5p/point. In short, you can, but the better value options is limited.

Redeem For Fuel or Goods In BP Stores
Point Value = 0.5p/Point
To redeem points for fuel or goods at BP service stations, present your BPme Rewards card (plastic or digital) at the checkout. You can redeem points in increments over 200 (eg. 622 points = £3.11). You can also part-pay with points and money.
You can’t currently redeem for fuel if you’re paying via the app, you have to pay at the till in the station.
Redeem With Partners
Point Value = 0.5p/Point
To redeem points with partners, you have to head to the ‘Redeem’ section of the BPme Rewards website (you can’t redeem with partners via the app).
With partner offers, you can use BPme points to get Amazon, Love2Shop and M&S Vouchers. You can also donate to charity and buy products from Virgin Wines.
Amazon vouchers offer the most flexibility. You can buy a wider range of goods from Amazon and Amazon vouchers last 10 years.
Redeem For Avios
Point Value = Ranges
Head to the ‘Redeem’ section of BPme rewards website to link your BPme account to British Airways Executive Club.
Once linked, you can convert 40 point increments manually or set up an automatic conversion. Convert up to 30,000 BPme points/month. This doesn’t work in reverse, you can’t convert Avios to BPme points.
If you have a BA Executive Club Household account, any individual member, not just the head of household, can link their BPme rewards.
Gifting BPme Points
BPme don’t offer a family sharing option but you can gift points to other users. To do this, head to ‘Gifting’ on the BPme website (you can’t gift points via the app).
There, you can gift 500-4000 points up to 4 times per month. You just need the email address of the BPme rewards-registered recipient. The recipient must be registered and they can’t have had more than 100,000 points gifted to them in the current calendar year.
Do BPme Rewards Points Expire?
No, BPme points don’t expire if you’ve got a BPme account. The only way points can expire is if you haven’t registered your BPme card with an account within 12 months.
